Planning on cruising on Carnival Miracle in 4/08 from NYC. We have 2 teens 17 years old. Will they be entertained? Noticed the ship didn't have a basketball court or any sport activities for them so I'm nervous about them being bored. Can any help?

I think you will find all of the spirit class ships are a little laid back. They tend to have an older crowd because they are normally on a 8 day cruise. The day of the week that they depart is usually in the middle of the week. this makes it a little tough for working people to get off. Then they have to use more than one week vacation. We really like these cruises because it is an older crowd and we are retired. If I had teen's I would look at RCCL.I think they have the best program for teens and young adults. Hi Paula M,

We are going on the Miracle in May - I have read numerous reviews about this ship and in one of them -- although I am not sure where I read it - said there was a B-ball court/V-ball court area on the sports deck where the shuffleboard areas are. I have not seen any pictures of this and can't confirm this, but this person who wrote the review did mention this -- does anyone out else out there about this??? My kids are hoping there is one.

Carnival's teen program on Victory was outstanding. I wouldn't say go to RCCL, maybe just choose another ship? I had 4 kids involved in Camp Carnival (ages 8-10-12-15) and I could barely tear them away from it. We were on a 7 day cruise from 1-28-07 to 2-04-07, and there were at least 12 kids in the 15-17 age group. They had so much fun & made so many friends! If you get a chance, make up "business cards" for your kids with their name address, phone #, email, MySpace page address, etc for them to hand out to their newfound friends. That would have made life a lot easier for us if I had thought of it before we sailed

PS there was no basketball court on Victory and they STILL had a blast. (There is a mini golf though which was a nice surprise)

Thank you to all who helped me out with this one. Thomas Stanton - that's part of school vacation week for us so we're not worrying about time off. But thanks! We've cruised on Carnival and RCCL and had great times on both. RCCL does have a lot for the kids. To I love cruising - I have found out that there is court areas, ping pong & shuffleboard on board the Miracle. Rescue911chick - Thank you. I also heard they are putting mini golf courses on all ships!!

Please let me know how you like the ship if you choose to go with Miracle. I'm thinking about taking the 12-1-07 on that ship but need to figure out possible conflicts with Pop Warner playoffs/cheer off/high school football states!! 4 kids make life exciting but their activities make it hard to predict when we can go away!!!!!!

We have cruise #27 coming up and 1/3-1/2 of those our kids were along. They had the best times on RCCL.I cannot speak for shorter Carnival cruises as we always have done at least 7 days. The Carnival 8-9 day cruises are pretty laid back.RCCL is more of a party atmosphere and the kids really liked that when they were teens. But as I stated above if it were me I would choose the RCCL SHIPS for the kids.
