It will not be a disappointment as long as you have your expectations properly set. Inspiration is an older ship that isn't as "pretty" as the Enchantment. Carnival offers a different cruise experience than does RCCL. I like both lines, and personally think Carnival has better buffet choices (great pizza and deli), as well as larger standard cabins. To me the dining room food is about equal. The Fantasy-class ships are not especially appealing to me, but they offer a fine cruise experience. Actually my favorite Carnival ship is the Holiday - which is smaller than the Inspiration and older too. Yet my favorite RCCL ship is the Freedom Of The Seas - about 4 times the size of Holiday. Remember what I said - if your expectations are properly set you will have a fine time.

They are very comparible in size. The Enchantment is slightly bigger because in 2005 it was stretched.

That's a pretty open question, Brandon. My pros and cons will be different from yours, and from Dave's. A better question might be: what did YOU most like, or dislike, about your experience on the Enchantment? After knowing that, those having cruised on the Inspiration might be better able to answer according to your needs.

If this is your first Carnival Cruise you are in store for fun!

The Inspiration is a Fantasy Class Ship that is over 70,000 tons.

If you are looking for a fun and a great vacation, I can vouch for this ship.

I've been on the Riviera deck on Sensation and Holiday, but with oceanview cabins. Initially I was concerned that the cruisers on the lower levels would be more concerned with partying down, rather than letting me sleep (some were), but most were in it for the economics of a cheaper cabin. Both cabins were mid-ship, with no engine noise, and hardly any motion, just enough to rock me to sleep.
