Hello well I have yet another question SonnyV and Dave56 you all seem to have went on many many many cruises and I see some others have done quite a few cruises as well I guess my question is howin the world does one get 100's of cruises under the belt I mean that seems like it would take a life time. My sister says 3 day cruises are really not worth the time what are the thoughts to all this???

Three day cruises are better than no cruise at all. Depending on where you live and whether airfare is involved...I find that the longer the cruise...the less the airfare impacts the cost.
Plus, by the time you find your way around, the cruise is over. I have done 5 day cruises that make more sense to me. The longer the better.

we also believe that a 3 or 4 day cruise is worth it just gettting away for that time is nice and relaxing.

Living here in Florida 2 Hours from the port. Three day cruises come in Handy.

I was dating this girl from IL. she would come and stay for a few days to Visit every few months, she insisted on eating 3 Full meals a day and staying by the beach. (I Live Inland)
So I'd Get a Room On the Water in Daytona for a few days for her visit. By the time I paid for the room and fed her three times a day it was a small fortune.

The next time She called and said she would be comming and I told her fine Ill take you to the Bahamas. she was excited and we had a blast. I was Relieved as the short 3 day cruise was way less expensive than the Room on the beach and the resturant bills

I agree that if you have to travel to get to them, 3-night cruises are not as relaxing. There was one time we did a 3-night cruise when we combined the trip with a few nights in the Florida Keys. That was OK, but my advice is to do the cruise last. A couple of other times, we took a 2-night cruise that left from a port about 10 miles from home. That was more relaxing.

If you live in a cold weather state then it is very inviting to get away for four days in Feb/Mar when the temperature is in the teens. I love cruising so much just being back on a ship for a 1nt cruise is exciting. Whether it's a 1nt, 2nt, or 3nt, I turn it into a 4day get-a-way. It also is a great way to see a different cruise ship and try out a different cruise line.

All I can figure is they have alot of money and time. I get to go once a year, sometimes twice if is short and cheap. I have to shop really well and save save save

My "onboards" as I call them are usually more than my cruise fare. Mr. October had a great post on another topic about saving change for your cruise.

To me the 3 day cruises are not worth packing for. I do like the 5 day ones I can drive to in Jacksonville or Port Canaveral.

We love the short cruises. We live a moderate drive from the Florida terminals and make a 4-day cruise into a full week most of the time. It's been great every time. We're going again in a few weeks, this time out of Mobile, AL.

You don't have to be rich to go on more than one cruise a year. You just have to have your priorities straight. I can't tell you how many times friends cry "I can't afford it." But they're the ones that buy their $4 coffee every morning, or spend $5 for lunch everyday instead of bringing something from home. They're the ones eating dinner out several times a week. There are many ways people can save money, but they just don't want to give up their style of living. You have to have your priorities straight on what's more important to you.
