What do they do when the potty do not work? They could be a mess if it lasted too long
I don't know what they would do. On the news link on Carnival's website, they stated that toilet facilities were restored to the cabins and public bathrooms.
If they were restored, that means that they were down for a period of time. On a HAL cruise ours was out for most of the cruise. At least we could use a public one.
They are now hoping to tow the ship direct to Long Beach rather than Ensenada, which is a good thing. Like others, I wouldn't mind a bit being onboard, especially since everyone is safe. I wonder if the casino is open and if the bars are back in operation? John Heald's Blog is going to be a "must-read" for a long time when he gets back online!

towing it home is a good idea, can you imagine the nightmare of having to bus that meny people back to Long Beach. and me personally, a bus ride would scare me more then the fire on the ship.

Carnival updated their news link on this. They are towing it to San Diego, as opposed to Long Beach. Coming north, San Diego is closer than Long Beach. I'm not sure how long it would take by boat, but driving, San Diego to Long Beach takes probably just over two hours.

I wonder how they are doing the future cruises that are booked? How far out they are canceling them and what if any deals they are offering the future cruises.. With the cost of Oil skyrocketing again,Carnival is shelling out some money ontop of this accident!
Macmom11 I know they have cancelled the Nov 14 cruise. They are refunding money and giving passengers 25% off a future cruise.
Some sources say ALL toilets in cabins are restored, some say most.
I think the worst part would be climate control. If you are in a cabin without a way to open an outside door or window, it will be hot and muggy .
Maybe the worst part is no ice for those fancy drinks.
I'll assume he isn't using his toilet jokes on the passengers, or the other bodily function humor that he finds so funny.
The British seem to have a quirky sense of humour and a stiff upper lip. The destroyer HMS Sheffield was hit by an exocet missile in the Falklands. When the crew was waiting for rescue from the rest of the fleet, one of the officers on board started a sing-a-long of "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" from the Monty Python movie Life of Brian.

Not sure how muggy any cabin is going to get with the HIGHS in the 60's and the lows at night in the 40's.
