We (our family of five) are sailing on Carnival Glory to the Western Caribbean on June 17th, 2006. We are scheduled for Cozumel,Belize, Costa Maya and Nassua. Where is the best place to snorkel and the best place to just enjoy the beach? We also need affordable excursions! I really would rather book our own instead of using the cruise ships. H-E-L-P!

We don't snorkel, but had a great day in Coz. at Paradise Beach. Not crowded and excellent food and water toys. See their site at www.paradise-beach-cozumel.net, or google search on beaches for your area. Have fun!

In Cozumel, the best place for snorkeling and water activities to me is Xel-ha. A catamaran sail/snorkel is also good. We did a swim with the dolphins in Chanakaab (sp?) Park pre-hurricane that was totally awesome. Haven't been to Belize and it's been ages since we were in Costa Maya, so maybe someone else can help there. In Nassau, I'd go to Atlantis on Paradise Island. Hope this helps and have a wonderful cruise!!

i would say belize we did the carnival excursion snorkel and lunch on a small baot about 20 it was beautiful there compare to the other places. the coral is right under you so you swim right over it and swim with the stingrays and pet them and nurse sharks that dont hurt you or bother you. we went to the small town and walked around and shopped then lunch afterwords. the view under was amazing, take a cheap water camera for 10 bucks and snap the coral its amazing.it was about 5 hour trip and under 100 each but well worth it it will be all you need for excursions on the trip. shop the rest of the ports or just sit on the beach.

Hi Angel, I guess this post is too late. But just in case you check..I can Highly reccomend Chankanaab Park. Taxis off the ship are cheap and it will be listed on the board where the taxis are..use to be $6-7 a few years back for the ride..not per person! Park fees have increased but are reasonable. It is truly beautiful, you can beach or snorkle and they have lockers also. They have dolphins to swim with for a fee..but it is just fun to watch, also a dive shop for beach scuba diving which you need no certification for. It is a government ran park, and my pick for most Bang for the Buck! I will attempt to include a link.
Hope you are having a wonderful cruise!
