late night snacks are usually served between 11.30 p.m. or 12 a.m. to 1 a.m. in the Coconut Bar & Grill.

I just called 800-carnival and asked them when the Ecstasy midnight buffet is. She said the first and last nights of cruises are the midnight buffets. I didn't know that either, and I have cruised before. I thought it was only the last night. So. Have fun and pig out.

Just look for the mob scene and about a thousand camera flashes and that will be the gala buffet. A street scene from Soylent Green with better food choices.

What is funny to me, is that the same folks I see in the line at lunch and at dinner are in the line as well! I'm thinking how could they eat again? Get your money's worth is my conclusion All kidding aside it is a great photo op for first timers.

The soylent green analogy aside, we haven't gone to a gala buffet in years because we don't want to fight the crowds at that time of the night. The displays are great for photos of course, but in the end it is really just attractively displayed buffet food and certainly not the height of the culinary arts.

I find most of the food at the gala buffet to be weird-looking and rather unappetizing. I am not one for the so-called gourmet desserts, etc.

I usually have late seating for dinner and don't even want to look at food at 11:30.

I also don't need pictures of food. However, I do have a collection of such pix from a previous cruise.

All of my personal issues aside, it is a great cruise tradition.

G.C, I am not sure if Fascination has it... but, my personal favorite is the midnight chocolate buffet. Now, that one, I'll pry open my eyelids with toothpicks for!
