As stated above by IceonWater I too look at tip's as " To Insure Promise of Service
I have seen it work both ways actually. tip em good and they expect more. But (BUT) (Behold the Underlying Truth}...I feel the service is much better from the begining with a nice TIP....maybe just space it out a bit. but the first one should be atleast a Linclon.
just my measley rambelings
Wow.. you hand out pennies for tips! I bet they fall all over you trying to get more.

I just like to size up who's doing it for the tip and who's doing it because they like their job.
So f-mattox, you like to observe people, I agree, it's a great pastime. For me the question is if I "pre-tip" then I may have servers pampering me a little more than average. I have decided that I like pampering. However it can become obnoxious. Kind of like a dog who puts his head on your knee because he knows he will get a reward. Okay, in my own short post I have decided againgst pre-tipping. I want to see "them" make the effort.
DISCLAIMER: Reader must not assume an underlying reference of servers to animals. (It is merely an illustration) I know they are real people with difficult jobs who work very hard and come from third world countries blah blah blah. I know the social consciousness of our community will want to state that if I fail to do so.
