Bon-Voyage Parties

We are cruising for the first time in a week, and would like to know how to find about Bon-Voyage parties. Thanks..

Hi Niknak and welcome to the forum. COngrats on your first cruise, hopefully the first of many. Unless you are traveling in a group that has a scheduled itinerary, there really isn't an official BonVoyage party. Typically everyone gathers on the top deck of the ship during sail away, has drinks, socialize, and watch the scenery pass by. If you would like something more, you can call the cruise lines "BonVoyage" department and they can arrange items to be delivered to your cabin like wine, fruits, party favors, etc. After the lifeboat drill, get up on the Lido deck and enjoy the fresh air!

Thanks for the feedback, this is our Honeymoon and our travel agent has not been very helpfull.
Do they have blow-dryers in the room? We are getting pretty excited, we asked our travel agent about up-grades, no response. How is our meal times planned? Thanks for the help.

Congratulations on your honeymoon also! Blow dryers depend on which ship you are saying. Unless things have changed recently, and someone hopefully will correct me if they have, blow dryers are on all Destiny class ships and above. Holiday and Fantasy class ships do not provide blow dryers.

As for upgrades, perks, etc... email Carnival with your booking number, ship, and sail date and let them know how excited you are about the first cruise, and also the honeymoon. That would be worth an email anyway. your agent may have already done this but it wont hurt anything for you to do it also.

Thanks once again, my parents love the Sovereign of Seas, cruise. I went ahead and e-mailed Carnival, I am also a Persian Gulf War Vet and my new hubby has never been out of the United States. Our travel agent was new and we have learned more from the forum here then the travel agent. Thanks-Nik

Congratulations on your marriage. I hope you got a special discount on your cruise being a vet? Carnival does give discounts to Veterans. You will be so in love that the sunset will sweep you away with such wonderful memories of this special event in your life. My husband takes me out to the railing, brings a bottle of champagne and two glasses from the bar where we toast our love. He also bought me a heart necklace and presented it to me to always have something to remember this moment. Like I would ever forget. We are in our 60's so just amagine how wonderful it will be for you.

And yes baby doll is on spot about Veterans discounts. They are often the best prices by far for Carnival. You have to ask as are not advertised, or they should ask you. Then fax or mail your form.

My Sis is a Gulf War Vet and I did this for her a few years back and got her a great rate below advertised.

We called Carnival and yes there is a veteran rate and our travel agent did not offer it. Carnival said that they would make up for the inconvience. Thanks for all the Great Advice and will pass along how it goes. We hit our 90 days of marriage the day we sail .
