Carnival Legend

Sailing on the Carnival Legend for the first time on Jan.19/06 - any comments or suggestions from former passengers? - we are stopping at Panama, Costa Rica and Belisze - any suggestions or recommendations for shore excursions?

Took that cruise last fall. Legend is a great ship. Costa Rica, rain forest. Belize, tubed. Panama, toured. All tours were with Carnival. Tubing trip we came back to ship late but because it was Carnival tour they radioed ahead to hold ship for us. Truly memorable.

We did that cruise over New Years in 2004/2005. I really liked the itinerary. I wish more ships would cruise from U.S. ports and visit Central America. I was quite impressed with Costa Rica. Nice clean country and pleasant people.

We did the pineapple tour in Costa Rica and a bus tour in Panama that went to some old fort and then to the canal. The fort was a waste of time although the bus ride to it gave us a good view of rural Panama. Of course, the highlight is the canal. Many recommend the train tour that runs to the other end of the canal. The pineapple tour was fun with a great tour guide. Belize is not high on my list. We have been there a few times, so on our Legend cruise we just went ashore and picked up some souvenirs.

I can't comment on the itinerary as we took the Southern cruise.But as far as the ship, it's crew ,and the quality of food I can't say enough good about it. It was one of the best cruises we have been on.The service was excellent in all department's.The ship was very clean, the only real wear I saw was the hallway carpets should be changed, but everything else was nearly spotless.I'm sure you will enjoy it. We are taking it in 07 southern again as they have changed the itinerary to include ST. KItts and St.Lucia.Enjoy yourself. Tom
