I had been checking to see if my rate went down on our cruise next month on the Pride, and it has gone down so I emailed expedia and I just recieved and email that I will be getting an onboard credit of $160.!!!! I had only booked an inside guarantee so this will be a some more money to spend onboard. Anyone else sailing on Pride Nov 26th check to see if your rates have gone down too.
I am booked on Holiday in a couple of weeks. The rate for our cabin went down $100 and Carnival gave us a $100 ship-board credit for our trip. You always have to call (or email) your travel agent to get the credit, but it always works for me.
I have a question? I have seen several post about checking rates and getting credits if the rates go down. I am I don't know if it is shy or what but I am kinda scared to call and ask. I don't want to offend anyone but I like saving money and extra perks also. So I guess my question is do I just call them up closer to my cruise and just ask for upgrades or savings. I hope I don't sound to ditzy but just courios on how to save some cash. I am on the Conquest on the Lido deck in room 9260 I believe. Is that a pretty good spot or would it be worth calling for an upgrade ect? Thanks for your help and thanks to everyone that takes the time to post and give all the wonderful advice.
Offend? You are not going to offend anyone asking them if there has been a fair reduction. Did you book through Carnival or a travel agent? (It makes a difference as to whom you ask)
The worst they can tell you is "no", but Carnival runs sales all the time, you never know if they may be able to offer you an upgrade. As far as the Conquest goes, she's a great ship, however your room is at a very busy place. The corner you are on is by the stairs and elveators that many people travel through to get to the pool and to the aft of the ship to ge to the dinning rooms (We were on deck 11 and the only floors that you can walk the length of the ship to get to the dinning room is 9,5 and deck 2 (maybe 3 also but I'm not positive.) So, you may have trouble with noise being by the pool, you may get kids running up and down the stairs where you are at. IF you can upgrade, its is worth a shot. You can also ask to be moved to a same category room only not at that location. (Even further forward by a couple of cabins would be fine.) I'm not saying you WILL have a problem. I am just saying you may have some noise. Locationwise, where you are act if very convenient.
I saw your other post about your son, but since I have no experience there I felt I should let someone with knowledge of that situation answer. But, again if you booked through a Carnival Cruise specialist, they could probably get better information for you. (Gives you a good exuse to call them and ask about upgrades too... just call and tell them you are concerned on the noise and were looking for any possible upgrades or specials they are offering becuase you think the noise my bother your son... they can't fault you for that

I do know what you mean. Once I booked a cruise with a price I was happy with, I forget it. Thankfully, I have a PVP that keeps an eye our for me and gets me the reductions without having to ask.
I replied to the note about your child. Now that I know you are on the Conquest, would you mind telling me when? I can do some research and "maybe" find out who the director is.
My fiance and I got an onboard credit of $60 for our glory cruise which we used for the supper club. He keeped on checking on the rates by calling the 1-800-carnival number with the booking number. Also with calling that number was able to get a 9 cabin upgrade to deck 10 (panorama deck under spa). Got my coworker hooked on carnival cruising (Inspiration December 6, 2006) and when she called she was able to get a miltary discount for her fathers room and had another price reduction so instead of having to pay her balance of $650 she just had to pay $150. So just go ahead and call like someone said the worst that they can tell you is No. Good luck!

I called today because the price went down, and got $60 credit!!! Yay! the woman at 1-800-CARNIVAL was nice enough, and tried to give us an upgrade to an oceanview room instead, but we took the money. She didn't seem happy to do that, but she was not rude. More umbrella drinks for me!
