Hello - I will be going on my honeymoon in October. We are taking the Carnival Destiny cruise roundtrip from Barbados. Has anyone ever been on this cruise before?? It is our first time cruising and I am scared that the weather wont be up to par. I want to be able to tan by the pool, you know what I mean?! lol Any advice would be so helpful!! Thanks!
I can't say that I have ever been on this particular cruise, but I have cruised a couple of times in October. The weather is still very good for tanning. Especially in the southern Caribbean. There could be some tropical storm activity, but this year seems to have been fairly mild so far, so you have a good chance at not having to worry about that.

Hi pamk. I have cruised the Eastern Caribbean in mid November and the weather was gorgeous. You are sailing at the end of the hurricane season which runs until late Oct. But Barbados is south of the main hurricane belt so don't worry about that. Regardless, ships will sail around any big distrubances.
I predict that your cruise will be hot and sunny.
BTW.......don't newlyweds spend most of their time in the cabin??? http://www.barbados.org/weather.htm

We always do our cruises to the Caribbean in October to December time frame. Even when there were 5 hurricanes brewing, we didn't miss one port or have any horrible weather. We did encounter rain in a couple of ports, but it didn't last all day. Go, enjoy and don't worry!
The weather doesn't change in the Southern Caribbean. It is going to be HOT!!
I was on the Destiny in October 06 and it was hot.
The only islands that may see a few days of cooler weather (high 60s) is Bermuda and the Bahamas. However, I was in the Bahamas on Christmas 2004 and it was in the 80's.
The Destiny's itinerary is further south than where most of the hurricanes and tropical storms make land so this ship is minimally affected during the huricane season.
I cruise every year during the first week of October and have not experienced any hurricane worries (not yet at least). Generally if the ship can pick up the passengers in its US port, then the ship will work around foul weather.
Happy cruzin'
