Well basically that is the embarkation process. Everyone gets off the ship. But when there is 3000 passengers and 4 customs agents to process everyone, there has to be some form of order applied to it. Imagine it being like a rock concert with only one exit from the parking lot. Its not going to be quick.

I think that is a wise choice. It was really cutting it too close. Ships get delayed all the time. And even if it was on time that would be a stretch to make it through all the hoops you described to make it in time.

We all have learned lessons after our first and other cruises. A few the hard way before there were places like this to ask questions and get advice.

This is coming from someone that once boarded a ship with the produce after the gangway was long gone. So, I don't cut it close with flights anymore.

Another word of advice; use a Travel Agent next time. They would have coordinated all this for you and it would not have cost any more. You might have even saved some money, not to mention the worry.
