I read on this post a while back that you should bring your own beach towels due to the fact that if you lose the ones provided in your room on carnival their is an 25.00 charge per towel. I want to know if I should purchase 4 beach towels while they are on sale and is it really true before I decide to pack 4 big beach towels in our luggage if it is not necessary.

While the beach towels that are in your stateroom are for use at the ports AND there is a fee if it should be lost or not returned, I would never take up the space in my luggage for beach towels. I usually just use the ones that are provided on the pool deck when going ashore. They are a bit smaller and less cumbersome when going ashore. On the off chance that I cannot secure one from the pool deck - I can always purchase one in port with one of the local vendors quite cheaply and it becomes my souvenir for that port.

In port, say Cozumel, what would be an average (u say cheap) price for a nice beach towel? Thanks, and great sunning and swimming!

Hi Rodney,
The last time we were there we bought them for $5.00 a piece. Nice thick large ones. We had to walk away a couple of times while trying to bagain with them, but stuck to our price and got it. Always try to bargain with them. I think we got a good deal. Most of the same type of towels at WalMart are around $15.00

My cruise is getting closer and I'm getting excited!!!
Martha
