I'm wondering how well equipped the gym facilities on the Paradise are, and whether I should be bringing exercise bands, etc. in case they don't have good weight training facilities.

Specifically, do they have both free weights and weight machines? If they have weight machines, are the machines high quality or are they the the wobbly, cable-based equipment you often see in hotel gyms?

Also, how busy is the equipment (cardio and weights)? Do you generally have to wait in line or is there more than enough to go around?

Thanks!

Hi, We went on the Paradise last December. The gym is well equiped in my opinion. Didn't have the cardio machine that I preferred, but had treadmills and stair steppers. Whenever we went we never had to wait for machines. Have a great cruise.

Thanks marvlgrl. Do they have rowing machines and/or stationary bikes for cardio, or just the treadmills and steppers?

free weights are not allowed in the Paradise Gym.You'll find the rest, actually 6 treadmills...It will be busy, with non smoking health concerned cruisers who will be up there early in the morning. Best time to go 5pm as people start getting ready for dinner and the sun is still up so people are sunbathing. If it is busy you'll have a fantastic running track upstairs, 11 laps a mile, in my opinion nothing matches a run up there compared with a treadmill you are allowed to use for 30 minutes max if gymis busy
