We changed out mind. Got a better deal on Elation August 14th. 5 nights instead of 4 and about $100 less!! Plus it is a closer driver for us to Mobile than new orleans. Any excursion ideas on Merida. We were there before and didn't like the one we chose...bus trip into town. Basically it's just an old town! Any ideas?

Congratulations PA Steve! I LOVE finding good deals, makes the cruise even that much better! I think there are some ruins near by (Chichen Itza) and there's supposed to be some decent snorkeling? I don't remember going to Merida before, which I know is bad.

If you'll copy the "bb" code, your ticker will work.

Glad to hear you got a better deal!!!

I LOVE to Karaoke but we like late dining and by the time we're done it's usually over. Anyone else know any good excursion in Progresso?

Really looking forward to going. We were supposed to go 2 years ago, and I wound up breaking both my legs in a car wreck and had to cancel.

At least you knew how to diagnose the injuries. (No pun intended.)

I'll be on the Elation in a little over two weeks from now. First time for me too.

Too bad you are missing LHP by one week! She is the undisputed Karaoke Queen.

Wish I could help with Progreso, I usually just shop a little, take the $1 bus tour, and go to a beach bar.

My friends did take the Chichen Itza tour on Solstice day. They said it was hot, long, and exhausting.

PA Steve, wife and I went to the Dzibilchaltun ruins in Progreso in 2008....a pretty good tour. A nice sampling of Mayan ruins, and a very interesting tour guide made it better! The bus ride is only about 40 minutes and our guide was very informative the entire way. Also, the good thing about that tour, we were not tied up all day on a bus...the tour lasted about 4.5 hours and we were back to the pier with plenty of time to grab lunch on Lido, get off to do some shopping and back on board to relax a little before shipping off again. We truly enjoyed the tour. Well worth the small cost.
