Does this only cover soda? or is for all non Alcoholic drinks? we are non drinkers who go drink our fair share of soft drinks.

The card is for "soft drinks". I've never had a problem with my son using his card to get his favorite Carnival drink - "Captain's Punch" (his term for it), in addition to sodas. The punch is just fruit punch made from orange, pineapple, sour mix, and grenadine. I think alot of the time this has to do with the individual bartender's relationship with you.

so i take it this card is worth it?

we bought the soft drink card on our cruise and feel it was definitley worth it. We drink a lot of sodas and considering the price per drink and the fact that we paid the $45 or so for 7 days made it worth it. It is even cheaper for children.

My kids used theirs to get some non-alcholic ship drinks, but you should ask when ordering if it will cover anything non-soda.

As far as if it is worth it or not, it depends on how much soda you will consume. Since you won't be drinking the hard stuff, I would guess it is worth it. For adults, the card runs $7 a day (and that includes tips, but I found that servers tend to "disappear" and never return if you order with the card, so maybe try a little extra tip?) If you figure a glass of soda runs about $2 plus tip, you can do the math. The card WILL NOT get you bottled sodas, only glasses and it is usable in the dinning rooms. It is good for my kids, but I found that because I would have wine or mixed drinks with dinner and at the shows, that I never really used it enough to make it worth it. But in your situation, it is probably good. Get it on your first day.. they normally will have a table set up on the pool deck somewhere sell them.

can kids buy non-alcoholic drinks with the drink card like virgin margaritas and such? I would think it is along the same lines as the Captains punch?

I would like to ask that as well. I am thinking about taking my nephew next year. BTW, Dave your recipe for Captain's Punch would be a Bahama Mama if one added rum

Virgin versions of frozen cocktails are not included with the card. Now you are getting into more prep time with the blender and everything. I've seen kids with the card ask for virgin coladas and such - and the bartender asked for their sign and sail card.

Bahama Mama - yes, in fact I made some up yesterday!

thanks, Dave. That is really good information to have. This is the kind of information you can't find any where and why this arena is so helpful!
