We are traveling with another family and are trying to book our shore excursions. My daughter is 8 and her friend is 7. If a snorkeling adventure is 8 and above is there anyway to get her friend on or is it set in stone?

Sorry, but those limits are typically strict...mainly for insurance purposes.

If the other set of parents is comfortable with their 7-year-old on this tour, is there an equivalent one that you might book independently that does not have this age requirement?

Yes, they tend to be strict with the age limits for the ship booked tours. But as LisaP says, try a independant tour guide (look on the internet). If you come back here with which port you are planning to do this in and what it is you want to do, you can get recommendations on no ship based tour companies. They will tend to let younger kids go on the tours. Just ask when you call to book them.

Thanks for your help guys. I already booked my tour...I don't know if I can get my money back now. The tour is "See Antigua by Sea" Catamaran to Green Island, lunch included. It had very good review. Again Thanks for your response!
