Did we ever ascertain if you can use two on one cabin? Say one in each guest's name and receive the OBC's? I sent them an email asking, but they didn't reply.

When my girlfriends and I cruise together, we stay in the same cabin. We have only been allowed to use one certificate in the past. We all usually buy a certificate when we're on a ship that offers them. It just means we have to take turns using them and make sure we book enough cruises so they don't expire and everyone gets a turn.

Thanks! I've read some conflicting reports about this. I asked a friend to call the General Reservations number and they told her two people could use them in the same cabin. I originally thought that you could use two on one cabin, but they would only let one OBC be issued for the cabin. Regardless, they are a good deal and am going to get a few on my next cruise.

Posted below are the current rules for use. One of which I will expand on after;

Terms and Condition for the Certificate

1. Valid for new bookings only
2. Only one certificate will be applicable per stateroom
3. Not combinable with Friends & Family, Interline, Travel Agent Rate or restricted fares
4. Certificates Issued Prior to 1/04/11: Certificates must be redeemed within 48 months from date of issue; based on previous terms, there may be 60 month certificates still in circulation.
5. Certificates issued 1/07/11 and beyond: Certificates must be redeemed within 24 months from date of issue and guests must sail within 36 months from date of issue = book within 2 years/cruise within 3 years.
6. Applicable to Group bookings
7. Deposit is refundable however non-transferable

I have verified today that rule number 1. has some flexibility in that they can be used as long as the booking is outside of penalty and before final payment. I am also happy to report I was told the current processing time is 7 - 10 business days. This is a vast improvement over the backlog they had going on last year. Also they still must be sent by certified mail.

I hope the tax man is kind to me as I want to buy 2 on my next cruise.

Also be aware of a change with these FCC....they USED to be good for 5 years and any certificates purchased are grandfathered in....

but NOW any certificates purchased are only good for TWO years.....

I wish they were transferable. That way you could have a friend pick up one for you on their cruise. I like having the OBC's so you are not in the hole as you as you board.

I'm sure someone is going to ask which ships have them. Currently they are on all the ships excluding Carnival Imagination, Carnival Paradise, Carnival Sensation and the Carnival Victory.
