Just received notification that all sailings of Carnival Valor Western Caribbean throughout the rest of 2006 will be changing its itenirary from Cozumel to Costa Maya.
Carol, do you know if this change affects other Carnival ships? We are sailing the 26 March out or Tampa on the Miracle, going to Grand Cayman,Cozumel,Belize then Costa Maya. What port might they use if they pull the Cozumel stop? I'm also going to check with my travel agent. Thanks for the info. Gennine

The notice I received is that the ports will be reversed. All Western Caribbean sailings on the Miracle just has a port reversal. Instead of stopping at Costa Maya on Day 4 from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm you will now be going to Cozumel from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm and on Day 6 you will be going to Costa Maya from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm.
I understand you will still have to tender in, but at least you get to go.
Gennine, I gave you the wrong info, sorry, the ship that has the reversal on ports is the Glory from May 06 until April April of 07. The Miracle should be the same. I apologize I picked up the wrong ship.
Diamond, The Valor's change is due to begin with the October 1, 2006 Western Caribbean sailing through April 7, 07 sailing. I received a correction on these dates, so your sailing should be the same.
I guess Cozumel is setting the schedule up very early for the end of 06 beginnin of 07 sailings.
I just got on line and it seems they did change it to Costa Mays, kinda upset because we scuba dive and were looking forward to Cozumel. Oh well wont let it worry me none. Thanks
I love Cozumel and was looking forward to visiting again, but i guess i will have to settle for Costa maya, is this because of Katrina ? i noticed that most of the travel sight have not yet changed the itenerary.
you will love costa maya it does not seem like much when you get there but go to the quaint little village about 10 minutes away cabs cost about 3.00 each way and the shopping is good just bargain, walk away and they deal, son was looking at a cotten hooded jacket they told him 45.00. I got it for 20.00 great free beach and swimming and even better 20 min massages on the beach 20.00 and food is also good, or stay in the port area free pool to swim and lounge and pool bar ( in the pool) and playground and beach area, shopping is quite expensive there, liquor store in mall was very cheap, it reminds me of cozumel 6 or 7 years ago before the place became so famous
My husband and I are also going on the Valor April 30th. Has anyone read the reviews on this ship we have and are a little nervous about going on it now.
