Anyone been on this vessel? I am going for the first time with my family and booked a guar. inside stateroom with possibly of upgrade. I was told the rooms are extremly small.
I wouldn't say they were small. The Fantasy is a perfect sized ship in my opinion.. small enough so there isn't hoards of people, big enough to have everything a cruise ship needs.
The only drawback of the Fantasy ships is the low number of balcony cabins (so they come at a premium). As far as the size of an inside cabin goes... its no smaller than an oceanview cabin. Just no window. Infact, if you booked a cabin that is big enough to sleep your family, then its possible that there are smaller oceanview cabins too.
I would not loose sleep over it.

Thanks that relieves me. I booked a room with the bunks on top sleeps 3-4 people. I am cruising with my husband and 2 and 9 year children. Hopefully everything will pan out nicely.
Never been on the Fantasy, but had an inside cabin on it's sister ship Inspiration. The room was fine with us. It is around 175 sq. ft.
Carnival's inside cabains are larger than on some other crusie lines. Plus you are not in the cabin that much anyway.
The inside cabins are 185 sq ft. As the previous poster stated, Carnival has some of the biggest cabins. Square footage on other cruise lines on a ship the same size could be only 119-132 square ft.

Had the bunk beds on the Fantasy and it was a hoot. My husband got the top. We still laugh about it. Everyone one time needs to do that. We enjoyed so much the cruise and was hardly ever in the cabin anyway.

If you are traveling with 2 children, you should look into getting 2 cabins. We have 2 kids and always get 2 cabins. The price differance is not that much more on an inside cabin.
We get cabins that are next to each other and my son and I take one and my little girl and wife take another. Much more room.
We have been cruising with our 2 boys since 1998 (majority of them on Fantasy class ships) with 4 to a room and we have never had a problem.
In fact, after sailing on the Fantasy in December and March .... we are headed out again in August. And yes there will be 4 to this room, although it is getting a little harder now that the 19 year old's size 14 shoes take up as much room as a person!
If you can, bring a little night light...it gets really dark in an inside cabin...that way, if you need to get up, you won't be bumping in to things...some people leave the bathroom door ajar, but a night light works better...if you can, get a light that rotates so you can have the light pointing up or down...depends on the electric receptical....Have a great cuise...
