Sorry, we are headed out on her in less than 2 weeks.

You asked about the "reviews" on your other thread.

I can tell you that she seems to get better reivews when she sails from Southern ports.
(I have often pondered why)

You will have a great time. She will have just completed a drydock...which means she will be fresh and ready to roll for you!!!

Have a great cruise!

Oh, that is great!!. Have been on several Carnival cruises in the past several years and seems like the Victory had more negative comments than what I was expecting. I have always been very pleased with every cruise....think a cruise is what you make it to be. I will be anxious to hear about yours when you return home. Have a wonderful trip!

Hi CruiseAlot, and welcome to cruise-chat.

We cruised Carnival Victory last year, although a different itinerary, and had a wonderful time. I hope you enjoy as much as we did.

Thank you! I am looking forward to seeing the ship as another reader told me that it will have been in dry dock and spruced up by the time I go in December.

Is it true that you are charged for your gratituties at the beginning on this ship?

Yes, they do charge the "tips" on to your sail and sign card [your credit card] and it is about $70 per person. You can go to the Purser's desk and request that the tips be removed or request envelopes so you can divvy up gratuities [up or down]. On previous cruises, that I have been on, envelopes were placed in your cabin, and everyone would show up that day because they "knew" it was gratuity time on the last evening at sea.
