Hi, I will be on the Liberty in Aug 07. I wanted to know what's the earliest you can get off the boat if you carry your luggage off?

Nothing is guarenteed because the ship is at the mercy of the Coast Guard which can at times be very slow. But carrying your own luggage will get you off at the earliest possible time. Depending on the home port even by 8AM. If you are worried about meeting a plane be sure that Carnival Personnal know that your time is tight and they will do what they can to more you out quickly. You also need to clear US Customs, so don't have any contraband and make out the the customs papers carefully and completely.

Coming back to Port Canaveral once we were held at Sea because a bag was not claimed in the terminal and the Coast Guard would not let the ship come in. The Disney ship was already docked and they could not get off until the bag was disposed of. It happens. And Carnival got busy rearranging air travel for those with missed flights.

Hi! We did self assist. We were off the boat very quickly. I loved it. If you do self assist remember there will be no help with your bags. People in the check in line thought we were nuts because we had four bags. The reward was we got up in the morning had toothpaste and all the stuff people pack by accident and place outside the night before and we were off the boat very quickly.
