I have heard nightmares about how costly alcoholic drinks are on the cruise ships. My husband is a Bud Man and Corona lover...I, on the other hand, am addicted to margaritas (on the rocks) and white russian's!
I plan on kicking back and soaking in some rays and relaxing with drinks in hand. I have heard the drinks are very pricey....Anyone know just how pricey??? Don't want a BIG surprise on my bill at the end of the cruise!
My wife likes margaritas also, usually our sail and sign (or as I've been know to call it the drink-n-sink) bill isn't too awful bad. Pictures cost more than the drinks. I think the drinks were about $6, with a gratuity automatically added. I'm not a beer drinker, but I saw bunches of buckets of beer, rather than single bottles around. And a group of college agers did metion that it was cheaper that way. If I can dig up a CaperPaper I'll get back with you on the price.
The beer is cheaper by the bucket, but the prices are comparable to most bars in the states, not honky tonks or local pubs, more like Ruby Tuesday or TGIFridays. The margs come in small, medium and large. Enjoy your cruise!

Christy, if it is not too late, order some of the DRINK coupons to be delivered to your room. For $19.50 you get 4 coupons for drinks and this already INCLUDES the gratuity (they add on 15% gratuity to all drinks purchased normally)and can end up saving you some money. Don't use it for beer or the special of the day though, as your best bang for the buck is on mixed drinks you like that don't happen to be the special that day. If you like rum punch, bring a small flask of the "Captain" (Morgan) aboard (in your suitcase)and mix it with the fruit punch offered in the buffet. That will help cut down some on the final sail and sign bill and hopefully prevent "sticker shock" that last day when you view your bill.
