Hi:
My DH and I will be taking our first cruise on the Celebration on June 7. I know that this is an older ship, but hear that it is still in good shape and well kept. Can anyone who has been on this ship tell me anything about it, what to expect?? We are going to Freeport and Nassau. Thanks

You will love the ship. It is a sister ship to the Holiday....I have cruised on both. And I love both of them. They are older but I think they still have the wonderful charm it started with. You will love it.
As for Nassau, so meny people do the excursion thing but in Feb when we were there we just decided to see the island. WE took a city bus which is airconditioned and very modern and just rode...the driver found out we just wanted to see the island and he became our guide. He told us about the people, the culture, as he would drive by a landmark he would point it out and then explain what it was...We also went to the queens stair case which was impressive...and the best part it only cost 1 american dollar...every time you get on and off its a dollar...absolutely the best dollar we have ever spent..

Thank you macmom111! We are really looking forward to our first cruise!! I really want to see Atlantis while we are in Nassau too, I hear it is breathtaking! I don't think that we can do all the slides and stuff there without a reservation, but my husband said that will be ok, the beach is better and they have a slide on the ship. I will keep the bus in mind too, that really sounds like THE way to see the island!!

It isn't a big slide, not like the monster slides Carnival has on the larger ships.

I recall doing the slide on the Carnival Pride. That one is scary! Especially when you are legally blind without glasses and you can't wear them on the ride. I strained my neck on that ride. It hurt for days.
