We are traveling on the Splendor out of LA in July 2009 and plan on a balcony room -- what deck is the best and what location for rooms should I look for - first timer here
Welcome aj7220 This one is hard because I love the highest deck I can get and middle of the ship. I also love getting a cabin in back facing out (would that be an aft cabin?) Everyone has a favorite spot and it may not be what I like. Do you like being up high? If your out in the ocean for a few days the middle might be nice and a little smoother. So that is my vote.
Yeah, I think I would like those aft balconies. I'd love to see the wake behind the ship. That's my favorite spot...the aft of the ship. I could sit there all day and watch.
On Glory, my favorite deck is the Verandah. I always ask to be as close to the main elevators as possible. That way, I am one stair flight to the Lido deck with all the food.

Verandah is my favorite deck on the Glory as well. I try to get one near the mid-ship elevators and stairs. One deck up and you have food and coffee, or the Lido Bar.
I look at where they put those expensive suites and figure they will be at the best deck for the most comfortable cruise. I pick one next to them...works everytime...lol
