Laundry on the Spirit

Is there a laundry mat on the Spirit? If so what is the cost and were is it? i think I have talked my wife into taking less clothes, however she wants to make sure there is a way to laundry the clothes just in case.

Yes, there is a laundry room on the ship with ironing boards and irons. You can buy detergent and such from a dispenser(can get expensive). I bring travel sizes from home. We found it's hard to get change even from the purser's office so bring loose change for the machines. It gets very crowded because it's a small room. We use a duffel bag that we carry our shoes in to haul the laundry back to our room. Best time to go is very early a.m. or late in the evening.

Not 100% sure. It might be $1.50 or $2.50 for just the wash. My husband brings a few rolls of quarters from home. Hope this helps!

Another suggestion I'd like to make is to carry a few dryer sheets with you in a ziploc bag. They charge for those in the dispenser also.

Don't try getting change from the pursures office... go to the Casino cashier instead and ask for quarters (like you are going to play the slots...) They have plenty of change.

And as gdjoslin stated, if you plan on making use of the laundry, bring your own soap (travel size boxes or something) as the soap is very pricey if bought on the ship. Just be cautioned that the laundrymat can get crowded towards the end of the week AND if you are planning on ironing for formal night, do it EARLY!!!
