Second time cruiser on 5/21/06 Elation

My FI and I will be going on the 5/21 Elation cruise from Galveston, TX for our honeymoon.
This will be our second cruise on Carnival and we are so excited!!
I was wondering (because I can't remember) when we will recieve our cruise documents?
Also I was told to use my maiden name when booking our cruise to eleviate any name problems that might arise when trying to use my new name, is this correct?
Can any previous cruisers on this ship and itinerary (progreso, cozumel and belize) give me any advice and tips on what to do in the ports?

Assuming by 5/21 you mean 5/21/2006?

If so, you may want to review the department of state travel regulations - if I am not mistaken, you will need a passport to take any cruise that departs the USA effective 12/31/05.

Not sure how your name change will affect passports - but I'll bet some experienced cruises can answer THAT question (or folks at the local Passport office can for you).

In July 2003, we sailed for our honeymoon. I had to travel under my maiden name because all my proof of identity was my maiden name. I hated my sail and sign card not showing my married name, but there was no choice. I was told the only way I could travel using my married name was if there was time for me to get all new documents in my married name before traveling. Of course this wasn't possible so my maiden name had to be used.
