rooms with kids under 18

We are booked on the Valor. Our TA said we could not book a seperate room for our 12 and 17 year old to share. We had to book an adult in their room. They said that Carnival maybe would switch in when we asked. The plan was to have a seperate room for the parents. Any experience with this?

my mom and her friend had a room to themselves while me and my friend had a room to ourselves last december on the triumph. my friend and i were both 16 so i dont knkokw why they wont let u. plus ive seen plenty of kids with their own rooms......

My family is booked on a cruise in April. We BOOKED with a 4, 6, 10 and 15 year old in a room and my wife, me and the 17 year old "nanny" in the other room. The 17 year old had to be with us b/c she wasn't legally a part of our family.

However, the TA said that we could mix it up when we got there. They're not going to go around checking who's where each night.

Are your rooms adjoining because ours aren't. My concern is will room keys to the right room because they are also sign and sail cards. My kids will come and go on their own to their rooms because the are 12 aznd 17 so we will all need the right keys. Thanks.

u get ur rooms keys when u embark. so you handle that at the beginining before you even get to the ships

Our rooms are across the hall from each other. The room keys is a good point...didn't think of that.

I just spoke to my TA who spoke to Carnival. She says that legally kids under 18 have to be registered in a room with adults. But, Carnival told her that once we are actually on the ship, go to the pursars desk and they will re-key the cards so that the right people have the right keys.
