Now that I am past the bedbug thing, is there anything else to do on board besides drink to oblivion and ogle the opposite sex? Is everyone drunk all the time?? I am like this boring, happily married, non drinker, non gambler going on this cruise with friends and it sounds like we will be surrounded by falling down drunks!! Oh please tell me I am not making a mistake.
I have been looking forward to a cruise for at least 100 years and now that it is around the corner (Fascination to Key West and Cozumel,)
I wonder what really is in store.
Please don't take offense. I am just this mild mannered woman who loves the water.

You don't have to be a drunk gambler to enjoy yourself on a cruise. In fact i would guess there are many people who cruise that don't spend a lot of time in the casino.
There are games and shows going all the time. There are deck activities, trivia contests, parties (which you don't have to drink to enjoy)
Food, food and more food. Ping pong, golf...sitting around the pool sunning yourself. Sitting on your balcony just relaxing.
You are not making a mistake, there are so many things to do, you'll be hard pressed to do them all (they really don't expect anyone to do everything offered, but they do offer many different activites to allow for different tastes).
You will have a great time.

im glad to hear that there is alot of drinking cuz im a drinker lol and a smoker so gooooooooooood maybe if you don't like tht kind of stuff you should go on like a disney cruise of one for boring old ppl j/k
I drink and smoke also. There are things, activities, and places to accomodate everyone on the ship. Smoking is not allowed in the dining room or theater, and many other places on the ship. The ship truly is like a city all to itself and you will have a wonderful trip. My ritual is a morning cig and bloody Mary beside the jogging track. Watching exercise is the next best thing to doing it!

I am a 51 year old married woman who loves to cruise. I have never been "surrounded" by drunks on any of our Carnival cruises.
I do not gamble and only enjoy moderate drinking. I do have a regular size frozen margarita at Paradise Beach and sometimes a beer in the afternoon when we are shopping.
The most drinks I have ever consumed in a 24 hour period is 4.
I cruise because I enjoy the water (I am not into ports) and I love to sing. Carnival provides me with a safe and usually smoke free lounge to do karaoke.
The greatest thing about a cruise is that you can do everything or nothing. The choice is yours.
Now rumor has it that the 3/4 day cruises are more of a party atmosphere. But it strickly depends on the "luck of the ole passenger draw".
Hello doulabug. You will have a great time. I have not been on the Fascination but knew one of it's prior Cruise Directors. My daughter dances on ships for Carnival. I have sailed a total of 5 times, Once many years ago in Hawaii on Holland America, and more recently on CCL Spirit, CCL Triumph (2), CCL Glory and am booked on CCL Liberty. I am also happily married and not a drinker. However I love the shows and watch both sittings. Read the Carnival Capers every day and it will tell you all that is going on. I like to go the Steam Room and Saunas, then a run on deck and swim. Look for secluded places to just watch the sea, There is typically a aft veranda probably off Lido deck that I rarely see anybody on. And don't forget the ports of call. I loved Cozumel, Just stroll around the city it is historic and georgous. Magic shows or comedians. Go to the formal dining room for breakfast. They will seat you with other folks and see what they are doing. Listen to the many bands on Lido or in the bars. Do you play golf? Take a lesson from the pro.
Bon Voyage

We are not drinkers, we are smokers tho, I was glad that tncruiseman mentioned smoking. But I can sure sit by the pool and laugh at the drunks falling down. It doesn't matter where I go or who I am around, I seem to find the humor in it.
But, then again, I might just lay out by the pool and enjoy a strawberry daquari or two. My hubby is a coffee holic so I doubt he will do much drinking.
None the less, no matter where I am or who I am around, I seem to have a blast. Relax and enjoy it man........
Don't worry about the "flashing". Like it or not. Carnival is a family cruise line. Anyone caught "flashing" will be in serious trouble. Perhaps even put off at the next port.
Like LHP said, I have never been "surrounded" by drunks either. Sure, there will be people that have had a bit too much to drink, but they are the exception.
Just remember - "I'm not as think as you drunk I am."
