We returned yesterday from the Western Caribbean. The ship & crew were outstanding & the food was great!! We were very pleased with the whole debarking service, very quick & efficient. We could have taken our own luggage off when returning to Tampa, but a tanker was stuck in the channel so we had to get off at a different pier & they had to take our luggage & transport everyone by bus to the terminal, but it was well organized. Bad weather due to a Tropical depression caused us to eleminate Costa Maya & the waters were rough. We also had to devert back to Cozumel due to medical emergency. This was the first time any cruise ships had returned to Cozumel in 3 weeks & the tender service was horrible...they were not ready to handle this situation & we hope they improve the system. The pier is gone but they told us it will be re-built in a few months, otherwise, Cozumel is still a mess & it took longer for people to get off & return. Wait till you get off to book a shore excursion...they were so desperate that the trips were dirt cheap where booking it on line or on the ship was expensive. All in all the ship was beautiful & very professional. I wouldn't hesitate booking with Carnival again. We have cruised with Celebrity & we found this much nicer. We're going on Miracle 12/25. Overall I have heard good things about this ship. A friend of mine just returned to Charleston, SC after sailing on the Majesty. They went to Cozumel and said that the ferry service was pretty quick. I guess you just never know exactly what quirks you will encounter on a cruise. Sounds like you had a few though!! How was your cabin? We're booked in an extended balcony on the one of the upper decks. Thanks for the info.

Hi...Our room was great & the shower was awesome. We had a balcony...always get one. The extended ones are ok, but not necessary. We were in rm 5193...loved it. The tender service in Cozumel as I said was BAD! But they should have it straightened out soon. LOVED the ship & will return to Carnival...enjoy your trip!! Deanie
Thanks for the info on the Miracle. We are leaving on 12/18 out of Tampa returning 12/25. First crusing experience and I am taking my 82 y/o mother. Any ideas on excursions for an 82 year old?

Hi...when you get on board they will have a lunch waiting for everyone...enjoy. Then go to the Shore Excursion desk on deck 2 (easy to find)and ask them for their advice...they'll be able to help.
