Just got back Sat. from the Ecstasy 5 day cruise.Due to Paula, we did not get to go to Cozumel and Progresso but Carnival worked a deal with The Port of Veracruz. This was nice because we have been to Cozumel and Progresso several times. It turned out to be a great stop ! People was very friendly and the town was very clean but very little English spoken, but we worked around that for some great deals.They had police and military everywhere and they was going to make sure nothing happen to the passengers, we felt very safe everywhere we went in town. IMO, it was alot better stop than Progresso and there is alot of history in Veracruz.We ended up with an extra sea day but that was ok also. Did miss going to Cozumel. I always like Cozumel no matter how many times I have been there. It was nice for Carnival to set that stop up on a short notice when no cruise ships go there. The cruise itself was good except for the poor waiters we had, worst I have had on 8 Carnival cruises. If you cruise enuf, that's going to happen sometime, just a law of average.
