Is carnival family ship?

We are going on a cruise for the first time on spring break '05. Departing from galveston on the ecstasy. Has anyone been on this ship before? I cant find real favorable reviews of it and it seems that it is full of partiers and I dont want to be surrounded by drunk people the whole time. Any comments?

If you want to sail from Galveston, I would suggest Royal Caribbean over Carnival if you do not want an invasive party atmosphere, but be aware that during spring break, there are going to be lots of college students looking to party everywhere (including most cruise lines)

Tom is right, there will be a lot of college students looking for a good party time during Spring Break, and Carnival certainly draws their fair share! As for the Ecstasy out of Galveston, you can expect a pretty rowdy crowd, but there will also be a large number of families on board. When you ask the question: Is it a family ship? What are the ages of the children you are referring to?
