CARNIVAL DESTINY TO COZUMEL

Has anyone been on this cruise? I am leaving soon with my husband and would appreciate any info, especially about what to do in Cozumel. I especially love silver jewelry - any suggestions where to go?

Hi Great Aunt, welcome to Cruise-Chat. Cozumel is a great port for shopping, snorkeling, beaches, and enjoying the local culture. There is plenty of shopping at the port, near the port, and even a cab ride into town. If you'll use your "Find" feature and type in your port, it will pull up all the posts made. Tulum is a nice Mayan ruin to go see.....

I will be there in January and will go on the deep sea fishing excursion....

We like to shop and then sit in the town square and people watch....

Just about everywhere! You should take your time and shop around and do some haggling. Visit several shops and vendors. Especially if you are looking for a particular piece. Silver prices are tricky while shopping down there.

I have bought a few pieces at Viva Mexico downtown. It is a slightly higher end store than those along the way, and has more of a selection than the vendors. They will negotiate and they take credit cards.

I haven't been on the Destiny in a long time and it was an Eastern cruise. For some reason the last several years I end up on Cozumel aboard a Carnival ship though.
