That's like asking for the name of a good stock broker... One person's good is another's ...well not so much...

Call the Carnival booking agent, get their name and extension and stick with them. You can always call back into the main number an get a different one if you are not happy with the service of the one you are working with. Or just use Expedia.com and book through them...

There are many travel agents that post on this site. I am sure any of them would love your business. However; I'm not sure if the rules of posting on this site allow for what might be considered soliciting. Working with a Travel Agent that is certified in cruising is much more personable than working with a Carnival Vacation planner or an online website. Travel Agents have many different sources for finding you the best price. They will work with you to match you up to the best cruise experience. They will be there to answer all your concerns and questions. They will be there to assist you before, during, and after your cruise vacation.

Lilfinn, you might ask around your area for some recommendations. Or go to the CLIA website (cruising.org) and enter your zip code or city to find a local cruise-oriented travel agent. Cruise Fanatic is right, there are a lot of TAs who post here, but the purpose of this site is not to solicit business. Calling the cruise line directly, or using a big online TA like Expedia works for some folks, but if you want a little more personal touch, go with a local agent or a smaller internet one.

Try Bestpricecruises.com or Cruisevaluecenter.com for a start. These sites usually offer free travel insurance also!

Since this is the Carnival Forum and was asked here, I would agree with Jim and say try Carnival directly as a start.

I do believe in Agents and the price should be the same. They should look after you better as they work for commission, and should want a repeat customer. But is not always the case because of them up-selling you for the extra commission.

Lilfin;

I would definately do some comparison shopping with a Travel Agent and thru Carnival directly. I know people say that Carnival will have the best prices, but I have not found that to be true in my case. I have booked with my Travel Agent every time and have beaten any other prices I can find out there.
You definately need to do your homework, and shop around.
If you would like my Travel Agents phone #, email me and I would be happy to get it to you. jmsettles@yahoo.com
