I also make a copy of my passport and driver's license and put it in my luggage.

I also put a copy of my vacation schedule with phone numbers in my luggage in case it get's lost. Hopefully someone will be kind enough to return it to me.

I don't know about putting a copy of my passport and driver's license in my checked baggage. If the baggage is stolen you have given the thieves all they need to steal your identity too. We leave it to name and address, and phone number.

Speaking of passports, you should bring a copy with you when you go on land. We had a problem getting back onto the boat from Nassau. When you leave the shopping area they had it all guarded off and were asking everyone for picture ID. Two girls were stopped in front of us and were worried that they would miss the boat because they were late as it was. Also just to mention you can bring insulated bags that work great, fill up baggies with ice and put them in the cooler bag and bring what you want, it stays cool for the day and if the ice melts you can alway get more from a restaurant. We travel with our daughter who is a diabetic and have to bring insulin along with us and some foods as I do not trust foods on land always. I just feel safer having her eat the food from the ship, even if it is crackers and little packets of peanut butter & jam. For any other diabetics the little "glad" disposable containers are good to carry cubes of cheese or cold meats (for your protein). We have brought off fruit, I wasn't told we couldn't...but then again I never asked ooops!!

No irons. They are a fire hazard for cabins. Please don't bring one.

The self-service laundries usually have irons and ironing boards.
