I know that I am going on a cruise the moment that I make the deposit online. I know then that I will soon escape from the day-to-day routine. Another wave of joy comes when I am officially issued a booking number. Then, I spend time surfing under my personal account that lets me know how just how long before the embarkation date. I dream of the shore excursions, frozen drinks, looking out and seeing nothing but more water, delicious ready to eat food, taking photographs that captures my smiles, hearing the sounds of the casino, the beautiful shows, and waiting to go ashore at yet- another port. When I begin to pack, I am happy, but a bit stressed in making sure that I remember all my new clothes and fun stuff for my escape from reality. Once the luggage is in the trunk of my car, a nice deep cleansing sigh is emitted and the journey begins. The car trip or the plane ride is all a joy simply, because I know the end result!
When the funnel is in site is when I know I am on a cruise an overwhelming child-like joy and energy comes over me! The water, the ships, the people, oh, la la! The part I truly love is just getting out of the transport vehicle and tipping the driver and parting with my luggage. (The luggage management is another feature that makes me feel real special. It disappears at the port and reappears in my cabin and then the night before my cruise concludes-it disappears from the corridor and reappears at the port!)
When greeted by the cruise staff and fellow cruisers, it is manifestation of my dream and the beginning of an escape from reality for a least a week! Cruises are an awesome way to escape-feeling totally relaxed, pampered and care about and for.
