This is major news for me, in a personal way since I will have 6 Carnival ships within reasonable driving distance!
And in November 2010 and November 2011 you'll have two other cruise lines and ships out of New Orleans. NCL Spirit and Voyager of the Seas respectively.
Charleston, Galveston, New Orleans, Mobile are all great locations for us! Come on Princess, move a couple of ships here, too
Of course, that depends on whether BP will be able to stop the spill. I've got it, they'll build a refinery out there, process the oil and refuel ships at sea
YEEEEEEEEHAW and HOWDY to the Magic and Triumph!
Galveston probably just got much popular as a port, and I can't wait to go on both of those ships. Thanks, Carnival.
Works for me! Galveston is my closest driving port. To have one of the new ships there will be great. I love the Conquest but she isn't going too far if we want to sail on her again. Her decor suits New Orleans better anyway, so that will be good.

I'm only 40 miles from Galveston...I cant wait to try the Magic and the "small" ship will be just as good as the Conquest...So, even If I want to take a short one, I still get a nice ship!
