Welcome, DJ! Glad to have you onboard.

Do you have responsibilities during the day, or at times other than during typical DJ hours?

Not when I was on the fantasy. Of course I took part in the lifeboat and muster station drills but i worked in the disco onboard from 11pm until 3am and then the rest of the time was my own. On the conquest, there are 2 DJ's so I will work even less!!!!! I can't wait!!!

DJ, I am sailing on the Imagination in August I keep wondering what kindof music is played on the ship, do they play RB AND Old School RB. Can we bring some of our own music to play off of our IPODs if we have the connection that goes into the tape player and plays like when your in your car?????

The music onboard depends from ship to ship and of course the clientele. It is usually hip hop, some house/dance, but sometimes they have theme nights. Like a 70's night for example so it will be a lot of disco, or a salsa night.
In terms of bringing music, again it depends on the DJ. You cannot plug anything into the mixer or sound system. I did take CD's that guests gave to me but had to listen to it at first. Carnival pays 3 different radio companies to supply them with music and they get CD's from them each month to keep the music up to date. I was advised by my cruise director to not accept CD's from guests as it is in fact illegal as Carnival has paid the companies for these CD's and therefore are allowed to play them to a group of people, the CD's the guests provide are not (legally speaking) allowed to be played to large groups. Of course in reality, you also have to meet customer expectations. As long as the CD's do not have any bad language in I would play them (the CD's received from the radio companies have all the swearing edited out).

Hope this helps, enjoy your cruise

Hi Eddy. I will be on the Conquest in June. Do you know who the Cruise Director will be? Glad to be able to join you.

Hi DJ Eddy,
was wondering if the tapes you mentioned are for sale any where or are they premixed from the supplier strictly for the crusie lines? Most ships play the "hot, hot, hot" & "the roof is on fire" type of music. I would love to get hold of some of this music.
