Hi ya'll. I am going with about 40/50 people on the Liberty in September. This weekend, I am hosting a "Cruise Party" with all of them for fun and for new cruise information.
Does anyone have any good suggestions on maybe some fun "games - ie trivia, etc. that I could do.
Thanks in advance
You could try playing the newlywed and not so newly wed game. Pick 3-4 couples based on length of marriage, like the youngest married couple, the longest married couple etc. They do this one on the ship and it is halarious.
Trivia...come up with some questions concerning cruising...that would be a great game to get everyone involved. You can learn everything about the upcoming cruise you are going on, ship facts and port facts to get the game going.
You could also purchase a few trinkets for cruising, such as over the door shoe holder for putting in the bathroom to keep the clutter minimized. (I have found these at the $$ store), Disposable camera, you get the idea, and have door prizes for your guests.
Don't forget to decorate in a caribbean theme, lots of fake flowers, (you can usually get cheap leis from the dollar store). Mix up some tropical drinks, if the people are not alcoholic drinkers then make them alcoholic free.
If your travel agent is local, invite him/her to come and share some cruising experineces for the people.
Get a poloroid camera and take pictures of the people for a souvineer dressed in a caribbean theme..or use your digital camera and print them for later.
Have fun and post back after the party to let us know what you decided to do and how it went.
Carol -
What FANTASTIC ideas!
I think I will use everyone.
And to think - I threw away all the colorful Canival Cups that my husband has saved through the years. This is the ONLY time they would have been appropriate!
Rent a dunk tank and call the game, "overboard".
Find mediocre singers to do a lounge act.
Have the men wear coconut bras and grass skirts.
Charge six dollars for dessert drink shots.
They did this one on our cruise ,, pick a few words out , that not many people know, have 3 guest , one knows the true meaning of the word and the other 2 make up stories of what the word means, guest have to guess who is telling the truth
We had about 47 people! They ate everything (getting in practice for the cruise )
We had a 25 question trivia game. Those who had never cruised before really appreciated it! They learned alot and were still competitive as they were paired with seasoned pros!!
We practiced Karaoke for the ship and watched everyone's travel log videos, CD and pictures. We even had limbo with Caribbean Music
The prizes that Carol recommended were fantastic! I REALLY wanted to be able to somehow come up with a mock "Ship on a Stick", but was unable to do it!
All in all, it was great fun and everyone is excited about the cruise and everyone now knows about the Chocolate Melting Cake!!!!
Chris thank you for reporting back about the party. So glad it turned out to be a "HIT".
Do tell, which items did you decide to purchase for the prizes? and did you give them to winners, have a drawing or did everyone walk away with prizes and gifts.
