Is it worth the extra $100 per person for the Insurance? Also, this is our 1st cruise so any tips you can give would be appreciated.

If you live in the port city, I probably wouldn't buy cruise insurance, but otherwise I would. If you wind up getting a flight delay, etc., the cost of the cruise insurance could be well worth the money. We always leave a day early and plan to go back a day late just to avoid that problem, but you just never know. Also, you never know when someone will get sick and not be able to go. It would be a bummer to lose the money you spent if someone got kidney stones or a broken foot a week before the cruise.

We buy our insurance through CSA and I think its a good deal.

Dear Cherish,

I bought Carnivals insurance 119 p/p:

I think its convenient because if you lose your luggage they cover it, if you have a medical emergency they cover it and they reimburse you cruise/air/ and taxes should a medical emergency arise.

I was reading on another website that someone had a stroke on a ship and they had to get them out w/ the coast guard and the wife of the guy having the heart attach had to sign 10,000 promissory note saying she'd pay that amount for their emergency.

I think you should purchase it. I did it through carnival, but there are other sites, such as insuretravel.com (i think thats what it is)
