I guess carnival has stopped giving the pins out to past guest.
I love to get a ship pin even if I have to pay for it. They should put them in the Carnival store on the ships. I bet they would sell a "boat load" of pins.
That's a shame. I enjoy collecting Past Guest pins. I have them from several lines, and like noting the changes over time. The one I got from Carnival years ago included the year of the cruise; the one we received in 2006 did not. I believe several lines are discontinuing them, sadly.
We were getting off the NCL Jewel in Barbados a couple of years ago for a tour. My wife Sandra wore a tee-shirt with the old NCL logo on it from a sock hop on Norwegian Wind, (Alaska 1996). One of the senior crew members said; “we loved the old logo” brings back memories.
It is nice to have pins and memorabilia from past cruises and experiences.
It was my understanding going by John's blog that they would still be given to Platinum guests. If so, Tim should have received one in his cabin. Maybe they changed their mind or something? I also read that they would be available for purchase in the gift shop.
I collect them too. I'm missing a few from past cruises. The only one I have with the date on it is Inspiration 2000.
I am sad to report that I didn't get one on the Fascination. While I was at the Guest Services Desk in the Concierge Club section as a Platinum Guest I was told they don't have them anymore.
I received one last year on the Glory early November. I guess they finally ran out. I don't see why they can't give them to platinum guests, they cost very little. Oh well, I had one from the Fascination anyway.
Just got home from the Carnival Sensation 3 day Thanksgiving cruise....I got a pin only because I was a platinum guest. They left it in my room on the last night along with my logo gift which happened to be a silver picture frame.
