Can anyone tell me if internet is available throughout the ship on the Victory, or is it just in the internet cafe? Also, is connection free or do you have to pay??

Whether you bring your laptop or use the internet cafe you'll have to buy a card to allow you access. Then you buy minutes and they are not cheap. The connections are slow and you can chew up minutes quickly. Forget technology for a week if you can and enjoy your vacation.

If you must, be prepared for some pretty healthy costs to use the internet.

Cheers, Neil

Thanks for the info. I have some ill health in the family, one having surgery while we're gone, so thought it may be cheaper to use the net instead of telephone to check on health issues!

On the Spirit we did not have to buy a card. if we were WIFI equipped, you just used your password and user name to sign on.

beachlover59,

You may also look at some of the pre-pay phones that you use phone cards for. You can get a phone for around $20. with some of them and then buy minutes, usually about .25 cents per minute and you get a few free when you activate the phone. You can get them at Walmart or about anywhere now. The pre-pay phones have no long distance or roaming charges. You can't get reception while at sea with them but many of the ports have towers within reach of the port areas.

Cheers, Neil

Also along this line is to buy an International Phone Card. Many port have phone booths at the ports and you can call in to home for a reasonable cost.

Thanks everyone for this good information. Really just wanted a way to check at random. After all, they have the telephone information for emergencies.
