Our first Carnival cruise is coming up Oct 27th. We booked a guaranteed cabin type (I forget what this is called). Can anyone tell us approx. when we will get our cabin assignments and boarding passes?

go to the carnival web site and do a log in and it should already have your cabin assignment there. it is the same place you do your pre cruise registration

They've been getter better at assigning guaranteed category cabins. It used to be you didn't know until you got to the pier. You need to complete check-in for your cruise at the Carnival website. Once done, you will then print your FunPass which is your "boarding pass". All you will need to have with you when you arrive at the pier is your FunPass, your approved ID (passport or photo ID and certified birth certificate), and whatever you will be using to secure your shipboard account (credit or debit card, cash deposit).

The latest for the cabin assignment is usually 7 - 10 days prior to the cruise. It has been longer though. If you are waiting on mailed documents, they mail them 30 - 35 days before the cruise. If you use the electronic documents you can fill them out and print them here.

The FunPass will need to be filled out and printed as Dave noted regardless if using electronic or mailed documents. Make sure to do it at least 3 days prior to the cruise. If not, you better get to the pier early or risk being denied boarding. For more information click here.
