I guess we need to set up some sort of meeting place. I am not sure when we'll board the ship. I plan to make the jump to warp drive about 7am tomorrow, which would put us in Mobile around 12:30pm. Cars do start lining up at the port entrance around noon, and then there are the railroad tracks at the entry gate, which means a freight train can hose things up for a while. Bottom line is that I don't anticipate boarding the ship until 1:30pm at the earliest.

I like the Wharf Bar, which has two sections - one inside the buffet and one outside on the fantail. I'll probably be around there in the afternoon, wearing a black "Marine Corps League" baseball cap. We are in cabin V8.

The excitement is building!

Here is a photo I took from the Holiday in June 2005. This was a few minutes before noon. The building with the triangle thingies is the terminal. Note the railroad tracks right at the entrance. And yes, a train did come through about 20 minutes later.

Not sure exactly when we'll be there but plan to leave around 5:30 am..surely will be there by 1:30! I haven't even packed yet and dont have a clue what I'll be wearing, but I have the luxury of knowing what you look like from this forum! First beer is on me and the Wharf bar sounds great to me...probably the inner part since its going to be nippy! Having to coordinate the kids and all, don't wait around long if you have something to do...but I'll get up there as soon as possible. After that drive, my nerves will be ready for a cold one! I think we are in M142, but not totally sure since I havent even looked at the tickets!

The worst part of I-65 is from Athens to Birmingham...at least for me.

They are funny about how they run the Wharf bar. They'll have one side open but the other closed. I don't think I've ever seen both the inside and outside open at the same time. I assume tomorrow will be an inside day.

I may try to leave earlier than 7am. It depends on how quickly I can get Jacob motivated. We are packed. I'll load the bags in the truck tonight.

Look at your docs and fill them out!
