What is teh best way to get a great deal on a cruise. My husband and I just got back from RCI Majesty of the Seas out of Miami. Next year we would like to take our kids, leaving out of New Orleans. Looks like Carnival is the best bet but I need a good deal. My kids will be 17, 15, 10, 5 when we go. Are the the teenagers considered adults? I'm sure I'll need two rooms, right? Should I book early and pay over so many months or book last minute for a better deal? Advice is appreciated!

Two bits of advice for you: teens are not considered adults, and you will need to book two cabins, one with each parent in it. (There must be at least one person age 25 or more in a cabin when there are minors cruising.) And Carnival has said recently that they do not intend to continue the last-minute booking "deals" - to encourage people to book earlier, they will be offering better deals for book-ahead people. (This is from the VP of sales.) A third bit of advice: work with a travel agent you like, who is familiar with cruises. They can keep an eye on the "deals" for you, once you let them know your preferences for travel dates, cruising style, etc., and can save you a great deal of time and effort on this score! Glad you had a good time! http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo...icon_smile.gif

P.S. Carnival isn't the only cruise line with good deals - see your T.A. for other suggestions.

I agree with you my travel agent tends to watch things for me and it has paid off. It seems many cruise lines are trying to switch to the book early theme unless a world crisis comes up..
