I just got back from the new carnival valor. it was my first cruise with carnival but 6th overrall cruise.
I have to say I have never had the kinds of problems with deck chairs on any other line, rccl, norwegian, celebrity as I did on this one. It was ridiculous, people would go out at 6:30am,and block off a row (12 or so) chairs and meander back for them later in the morning..I was so fed up I did remove a shoe and place it with its mate so that I could sit down and relax..when confronted by the man who returned I simply said it wasn't right or fair and we ended up being friendly w/on another..but a women in front of us caused a HUGE scene when she accused someone of taking her chair and towel, she was screaming, stomping her feet and threatening to call "security". we removed our kids from the pool deck with disgust at how some grown people behave!!
Hope this helps...I'm going back on rccl next march and can't wait!!
It is so sad when people who are having a bad time have to spoil it for the rest of us. I just sit down, relax with as a good book, and when they show up to claim their chair, smile, say I am glad you finally showed up. Security has been looking for you for violating the no saving chair law. I get up, say I'll go get them now, you will probably be let off at the next port. Amazing how they say keep the chair!
I suspect that if you complained to one of the supervisors on deck, pointing to specific chairs that they would relocate them for you. I haven't been on Carnival in years, but common sense tells me this should happen.
