I'm taking online classes and hopefully I can get ahead prior to our cruise, but I was wondering about access during the cruise from the cabin with my laptop. Anyone know the cost for the week and ease of access?

Just on the "Liberty" the second week of May. Loved it, but thats another tread . I had my laptop with me and I was able to get their signal with no problem on the Riveria deck. However, I don't remember the cost, but it seemed really $$$ for me. Like the post above, have fun on the boat, that's why your taking the cruise right??? I took mine to down load pictures only! Good luck, have fun and enjoy.

Samdel,

Here's what I found out for you.

Initial Setup fee was like 3.95 and then its 75 cents per minute. Initial log on is easy, its like the first letter of your first name and your last name then cabin number. You can go up to the internet cafe any time you want.

Its only if you are buying the Package like 100 minutes for 55.00, it would benefit you to start this account the first day since they will give you 10 free minutes for signing up on day 1.

Also, I am not sure the WI-FI will actually reach the cabins on the older ships.

The best advice anyone can give you…
Do you really believe you will study???
I remember during my honeymoon, for some reason the university had a strike, so students got to take the finals later in the semester.
One of my students was on the cruise “studying” for a final from other class…
He came to the cruise and never touch the books so why he bring it??
Have fun forget about the classes just for one week studying is good but so is fun…

CF makes a good point - do you really think you'll study with so many distractions? Take a break from school for the cruise.
