Do any of you all ever use the gym on the ship? I'm by no means a health freak but I think i would feel better about eating and drinking constantly if I got a short run in every day...
Every cruise I say I am going to work out just a little each morning. Every cruise I pack my workout clothes. Every day of every cruise I wait up and say, "Heck, I ain't gonna work out. I am on vacation!!" Every cruise, my workout clothes come home nice and clean and fresh!!! Ready for me to start working off the 5 pounds I gained on the ship!!!!!
This cruise coming up will be different. This cruise I will work at least ----- once!!!!

Amanda, I use the gym everyday aboard ship. I must admit, I don't put as much time in as I do at home, but I would typically get up early and use it before breakfast. My wife would sometimes use the gym or go off jogging on the promenade deck. I love to eat and can't imagine how much weight I would gain without using the gym!! Nothing beats looking out over the ocean while working out!
I normally use the gym at home. When I am on the cruise, you can say I don't. But it is improving. On my first two cruises I never even set foot in the gym. On my third cruise, I actually dressed-down in my workout clothes, went to the gym and did a few lifts on the weight machines. Next cruise I just might do an honest work-out .
Out of 18 cruises, I've been in the gym twice. However, between snorkeling and walking I've never had any trouble with weight gain. Even if I did, who cares, I'm on vacation. I'll worry about it when I get back to the cold reality of work-yuck!!
Not really. The ships are so big that it is hard to tell what direction the ship is going unless you have a window to look out. Even the free weights didn't roll around when you set them down. I did see one older gentleman do a face down into the treadmill and then get thrown out the back. Not sure what happened there, I think he was looking backwards at something (maybe trying to see where he had been)? Needless to say, that was the last time I saw him in the gym. It had nothing to do with the ships movement though.
Thomas you sound like my boyfriend...he works out pretty much every day, but this will be 5 days where the thought of it is almost repulsive i'm sure...he's quite the eater...as am I.
