Carnival Fantasy

My friends and I are taking a weekend trip to Nassau in Jan. This will be my first Carnival cruise we generally take Royal caribbean"Mariner". I know they are probably completley different ships, however can I expect the same beautiful decor , clean enviorment and professional service that we have come to expect from Royal Caribbean?

Well, you are right! You will find no comparison between the Mariner and the Fantasy, particularly in regards to decor. Beautiful decor describes the Mariner, but even after reburbishment the Fantasy is gaudy and garish with no central theme evident. While it is generally clean, it is a much older ship and the evidence of wear and tear definitely reflects its age. I think you will find the food similar (of course that is a very subjective area) and as for professional service - it is hit or miss. But, it still makes for a great getaway and ANY cruise is better than NO cruise (in my opinion).

Nancy hit it. However the MS Fantasy is one fun ship..no pun intented. First of her class, she replaced the older ships doing the Bahamas run. She has recently been "remodeled" ..I would call it. She in fact is not a Hoyte Doyte ship.
But She is clean, and packs alot of fun! She does 4 and 5 day turn-arounds from Port Canaveral. If you are looking for service..I would suggest you spend a little more.

I don't like how my previous post on subject comes across. I did not mean to suggest the Fantasy has bad service. Also a correction She is doing 3 and 4 day turn-arounds now. I have sailed on Her twice, when she was new and then again Oct. 2003 And would again if I get a good rate. Service does tend to be a little off on shorter cruises I have noticed. I also had a great cruise same itenerary on Celebration last year..Older ship, but better service, and less money! Plus is quicker drive to N. Jacksonville for me..and really good slots in casino. But in all honesty the service on Fantasy did lack compared to other Carnival ships. Of course as long as I get fed decent, have a drink in my hand, and I get to where I am headed, and have a great time along the way I am a pretty happy cruiser! Hope you have a great cruise, Island
