Traveling With Teens

I'll be on the Carnival Valor next April with my daughters. I've noticed that there are two clubs on board, one for 12-14 ages and one for 15-17. My daughters would like to stick together. Will they allow they 13 year old in the older venue or allow the 15 year old in the younger place? Any thoughts/experience on this?

They might enjoy meeting others their own age. Then after the activities are over, they can all get together at the pool or play video games or get some ice cream, etc. Don't force them to try it, but I'll bet if they did, they'd have a ball.

Penny has a point here. I have two young teens and while they are now in the same age bracket, they used to have the same problem as yours. They didn't want to go by themselves to their age group's clubs. Realize that there will be many familys with the exact same issue as yours. The kids always seem to find each other and the whole group forms a "crowd" that hang out together. They will do their age groups activities when they want and then meet back together. So your kids will most likely end up doing the same type of thing. If they just get out there and go, they will find these the "tween/teen" group... They will have fun!

I have to agree with the others, give them a chance to try it. if they dont like it thats ok too. I know with my kids, they enjoyed their times together and apart, I think it will be a win win situation for your teens

Thanks for all of your input. I will give them the option to try it on our "at sea" days (and evenings); our port days will be spent together on many fun island adventures.
